Visiting From Abroad

When travelling abroad, you should always familiarise yourself with the area you will be visiting – this will help you plan the trip of your dreams in the Adventure Province of the Eastern Cape. The Eastern Cape is home to the Xhosa people; you can learn certain phrases and sayings by using a guidebook, however the main language in the area is English.

You should also familiarise yourself with the weather conditions, currency conversion as well as safety precautions.

Safety precautions should always be taken. This includes informing your family or friends of your whereabouts through an itinerary and also ensuring that your passport is signed and valid, with emergency information. Safety precautions also include the following:

  • do not wear conspicuous jewellery or carry large sums of money
  • do not accept packages from strangers or leave your luggage unattended
